The caught and bowled was my first dropped catch in the outfield for 3 seasons. I managed to clean bowl the lad next ball anyway, atoning for my error.

Bowling figures were:

A Brown 3-4
C Goudie 1-14
D Hill 0-12
R Chaters 1-20ish
D Wales 1-10
A McNally 2-12.

Top of the league but a hard game next week where we'll have Adam Gorge available again to strengthen our batting line up (and bowling if we want to give the opposition a chance!)

 Ten men went to Chester...
« Result #3 on Jun 18, 2009, 1:37pm »

Might aswel do one of these, got nothing else to do.

Chester-Le-Street CC U18s V Felling CC U18s 16th June 09 1800h

The under 18s travelled to Chester-Le-Street where one of the team's unbeaten start to the season would come to an end. Mcnally won the toss and elected to field on what looked as an extremely green and uncertain wicket. Brown and Goudie ( both sporting their new haircuts ) shared the not so new ball, the only one we could manage to beck from one of the u15s. It was Goudie who made the break through when Ritezma snicked off for a routine take for Mcnally who was behind the stumps. The scoreboard was ticking along extremely slowly, Chester were 28-1 after about 9 overs. On came Robert Chaters, who had taken 4-9 the previous night before for the 15s at Marsden, BANG!, his first ball clattered off the clubhouse window for 6 penny-worth, Chaters came in to bowl again, bowled a similar delivery this time to land in David Hill's hands at deep square leg, everyone was astonished not to see their umpire's hands both raised. David Hill replaced Brown from the Ropery Lane end and bowled tightly throughout his spell, Luke Davidson took a got catch at Long off to dismiss C.Martin who had grafted a well made 31 whilst wickets tumbled at the other end. Felling felt that they could have been chasing an extra 30 runs if the catch had not been taken. Felling were electric in the field, although they had ten men, Chester struggled to pick out 1s and 2s never mind boundaries. Goudie set the standards with an elegant run out, which left Trotter to give some what of 'dubious' decision in the batsmen's eyes, when he seemed to be yards out. Mcnally then took of his gloves and pads and gave them to David Hill who had by then finished his spell. Mcnally trundled in and somehow managed to drop a caught and bowled which didn't really matter in the long run. Brown returned and cleaned up the rabbits for 3 wickets in no runs I believe. Some superb catches from Hill in the process. Special mentions in the field for Leezy slipping in his trainers, Robbie's budgies, my football sliding stop to stop the 4 getting hacky in the process and Rossy Impulse's long barriers at mid-on to ball that was rocketing for 4.
Felling left the field in as much dis-belief as the Chester players, they had bowled them out for 75, a tremendous effort all round.

Goudie and Dom put the pads on whilst everyone scarpered for the tuck shop for some sausage sarnies. They both formed an opening partnership of just over 50 in about 14 overs. Dark black clouds formed over the ground and to everyone's concern ( especially Trott's) we thought that the game would have to be abandoned and played on another day. Dom dispatched the offspinner for 6, managing to it hit right in the space of new extension and making all most the surrounding players scatter. All but me, managing to land on my left foot. Dom was dismissed on 30 caught easily at mid wicket. In came Alex Brown, who with the injured Goudie got Felling over the line. It was noted how Goudie was running his own runs but struggling for others, he ended up 33no whilst a cheeky contribution for Alex to end up 10no.

The Felling lads then jumped onto Freddy's bus jubilant and they returned to the club for some scoop.

Felling win by 9 wickets

Played 6 Won 6 in the league. 8-)

C Goudie 33*
D Wales 30

A Brown 3-4

All these asked for are done now.

For some reason the accordion does not work well in Firefox so until we sort the problem its best to view in Internet Explorer, Safari or Opera.

Same goes for the fixtures

 15s v Whitburn
« Result #9 on Jun 2, 2009, 8:43pm »

Whitburn 136/2

b/b R Dawson 2/29

Felling 46 all out

b/b A Donaldson 15

Not a great night for the 15s but one consolation is that we now have played the three strongest teams in our group this year and we can look forward to playing clubs of similar standing
